Nick Socrates has been shortlisted in a design competition as part of a £500 million upgrade of one of the UK's most famous football grounds.
More than 500 designs for the new entrance gates at Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea Football Club, were received from around the world and Nick's design has made the final shortlist of five.
The concept started with a five feet by five feet oil painting titled "A Beast in Fighting Attitude" which encapsulates the spirit and essence of Chelsea Football Club.
The painting became rationalised into an architectural pattern which later formed the wrought iron gothic panels of the gate.
As part of the competition process, the shortlisted entrants received an all expenses trip to Stamford Bridge to watch a game.
