#MeetMeMonday with Jessica Smits

Alex Whitmore caught up with Architectural Technician Jessica Smits and asked her a bit more about herself and life at PF+A.

Why do you love being a part of PF+A?

It’s nice to work for a company that wants to make a difference to people’s lives, starting with their employees. PF+A feels more like a family than just colleagues.

What ignited your passion to make a difference in the world and enhance people’s lives?

My grandad's job as an engineer saw him work on projects across the globe, including the iconic Petronas Towers in Malaysia, which I have been fortunate enough to visit. I wanted to be like him and leave a lasting impression on the world and change people’s lives, even on a small scale.

What personal attribute are you most proud of?

My positive and upbeat outlook on life. I get a lot of pleasure out of making other people feel happy.

What PF+A project that you have worked on is your favourite?

I loved being involved with the metal ribbon that weaves through the PF+A Jersey office. It has been great to see the design that I 3D modelled go from laser-cut pieces to an impressive structure in the office.

What is your favourite place in the Channel Islands?

Being fairly new to Jersey, I have made a real effort to get out and explore the island on foot by doing the coastal walks. I never get tired of the views and love being close to the sea. I think my favourite place would have to be Portelet.
