#meetmemonday with Maddy Adams

After studying her bachelors at Manchester School of Architecture, Maddy Adams moved back to Guernsey and joined PF+A as a Part I Architectural Assistant. We are excited to talk to Maddy about her contribution of passion, excitement and fresh ideas to the team; finding out what drives her enthusiasm to learn and experience more.

Why do you love being a part of PF+A?

“I love being a part of PF+A because it has a very family-based atmosphere. This was particularly noticeable when I first started as I felt very welcome and was included as part of the team straight away.”

What ignited your passion to make a difference in the world and enhance people’s lives?

“Studying at Manchester School of Architecture really opened my eyes to the breadth of ways architecture can enhance people’s lives. I believe architecture should be socially responsible with helps communities to establish a sense of place and thrive within their own environments.”

What personal attribute are you most proud of?

“I am most proud of my ongoing thirst for knowledge. I continually want to learn and experience more in order to undertake new opportunities.”

Before starting at PF+A, what was your background and experience?

“I am a local girl who studied BA Architecture at Manchester School of Architecture in which I learnt a lot about the built environment in Manchester. It is interesting, however, to return home and learn about architecture in Guernsey.”

What is your favourite place in the Channel Islands?

“My favourite place in the Channel Islands is Sark as it is so unique. You feel like you are in a completely different place even though it is so close. I enjoy going on walks and bike rides there.”
