We had to overcome a number of challenges with this derelict listed building. Parts of the property date back to the 15th century so preserving its character was of paramount importance.
The front aspect was painstakingly restored with lime render and plaster and the tourelle staircase was carefully refurbished. New oak staircases and bespoke doors were introduced to complement the original wooden beams. Our ingenious solution to lower the floors gives the rooms more height and creates a light, spacious feeling.
An orangery at the back of the property helped us link an enviable kitchen to the main part of the house. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite leads to a ‘secret’ lounge and balcony, with views of the beautiful landscaped garden.
