The vision was to create a secret haven within a forest clearing. With careful yet dramatic landscaping, a clearing was formed, to provide a secluded area among the trees. The main house was completely reworked to a high-specification, partly open plan build. Tinted bi-folding doors and stainless steel ironmongery enhanced the strong contemporary look. The glazed lantern roof was fitted with integral vents, combining wind and rain sensors to give full control over the ventilation.
The elegant extension to the west now makes a fabulous living space that opens onto a hardwood deck, with glazed balustrading, creating sheltered views of the trees beyond. As the house is in an elevated position, it really feels like you’re living inside the canopy.
